TEMPORARY SITUATED RESIDENCIES

Temporary Situated Residencies is a research project on the phenomenon of art residencies that promote situated practices, highlighting the new paradigm they introduce into contemporary artistic production.

The set of activities is structured around three lines of work:

Nursery. Creation and development of artistic residencies.
Observatory. Analysis of case studies.
Propagation. Conference, public activities, and scientific articles.

Through this initiative, the research team connects with professionals linked to spaces that run artistic residency programs, establishing areas of collaboration around the different activities and lines of work that shape the project.

The project involves researchers from the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Barcelona, in collaboration with researchers from the Public University of Navarre, the University of Vigo, and the University of Vic–Central University of Catalonia. It will be carried out between 2025 and 2028 and is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation within the framework of the 2024 Knowledge Generation program.
